Shepherd / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (short coat) : : Female : : Adult : : Large Learn more about the Australian Shepherd.
Meet Bernadette---This sweetest girl has had a very rough start--From what we know a family got her as a puppy---they did not take good care of her---and then moved away--she stayed at her home , waiting for them---Another family moved in and they did not care for either--gave her some food now and then--but she really just wandered the neighborhood , belonging to no one for at least three years--She had several litters of puppies--Rescue people would come take the puppies but no one ever helped Bernadette---someone asked us to take her last litter of puppies--we asked about her and were told they hoped to get her spayed and put her back on the street--but no one on the street would let her stay inside to heal a few days--we told them to bring her to us---She was in such sad shape--an eye infection, uterine infection, heartworms, fleas---you name it---- She was so grateful and we got her all healthy and ready for a great home--She is good with people and does well with large and small dogs--- She has not been around cats so we probably choose a non feline home for her--she is nice on a leash--loves to go for walks and is just an all around great girl--she sure deserves to be loved and spoiled after her first very hard few years---She is between 3 and 4 and about 55 pounds--she has the most gorgeous deep red coat--we do not know what mix--her coat is not short but a little longer and very thick--and she has the prick ears of a shepherd type dog--and white feet and some freckles on her nose--- If you would like to learn more about this girl or would like and application --please email at leeselman@comcast,net ~~All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines; parvo, distemper, bordatella, rabies, and puppies have had a series of four vaccines. All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative. In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. All dogs come with a micro-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 175.00-235.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog.
